About Mother Teresa Scholarship 2024-2025

Directorate of Minority Welfare, Government of Kerala invites  ( Mother Teresa Scholarship ) applications from Minority students those who are studying Nursing Diploma and Paramedical Courses in Kerala.he Kerala State Government invites applications for the Mother Teresa Scholarship (MTS) for the academic year 2024-25 from minority community students pursuing Nursing diploma courses (General Nursing) and Paramedical diploma courses in Government Nursing Schools, Government-Aided Schools, and Government-approved Self-Financing Institutions.

Eligible minority community students residing in Kerala—Muslims, Christians (including Latin Catholics), Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, and Parsis—will receive a scholarship amount of ?15,000/- each. This scholarship is based on population proportion and is intended for students who have secured admission through merit seats in the mentioned courses. Applicants must submit proof of merit-based admission.

 

Eligiblity

  • Candidates must secure at least 45% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • Preference is given to candidates from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. In the absence of sufficient BPL applicants, candidates from Above Poverty Line (APL) families with an annual family income up to ?8 lakhs will be considered.
  • Scholarships are available for first-year and second-year students only.
  • Applicants who received this scholarship in the previous year are not eligible to apply again.
  • Fifty percent of the scholarships are reserved for female students. In the absence of eligible female candidates, these will be allocated to eligible male candidates.
  • Allocation will be based on the annual income of the applicant's family and marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
  • Applicants must provide proof of minority community membership (e.g., community certificate).

 

Application Process:

  • Applicants must apply online through the official website: www.minoritywelfare.kerala.gov.in.
  • Select the Mother Teresa Scholarship (MTS) link on the homepage.
  • Register as a new user and log in using the credentials.
  • Fill out the application form by providing examination details (registration/roll number), personal details, and scholarship details.
  • Upload the following documents (maximum size: 100 KB each):
  • Photo and signature
  • SSLC certificate
  • Income certificate
  • Ration card copy
  • Allotment memo
  • After submission, download and print the application form.
  • Submit the printed form along with supporting documents to the head of the institution where the student is enrolled.

 

Documents Required:

  • Printed application form (registration copy).
  • Copy of SSLC/Plus Two/VSSE mark list.
  • Copy of allotment memo.
  • Copy of the front page of the bank passbook (showing name, account number, and IFSC code).
  • Copy of Aadhar card or NPR card.
  • Community certificate.
  • Income certificate (recently issued by Village Office).
  • Copy of ration card.

 

Verification and Approval Process:

  • The institution head will verify all documents submitted by the applicant.
  • After primary verification, applications will be approved online by the head of the institution.
  • Verification will include checking income certificate, allotment memo, and other documents.
  • All submitted documents will be cross-verified by the institution to ensure authenticity.
  • The correctness of bank details (Account No., IFSC code, etc.) will also be checked. Errors may result in the rejection of the scholarship application.
  • All verifications and approvals must be completed within the specified deadlines.

 

Important Dates

  • Last date for online submission of applications: 17-01-2025
  • Last date for submitting the printed application form along with documents to the institution: 18-01-2025
  • Last date for primary verification and online approval by the institution: 21-01-2025
  • Last date for submission of approved applications to the Minority Welfare Department: 23-01-2025
