About the Conference
Greetings from Kolkata, “The City of Joy”. On behalf of the organizing committee of the APICON 2025 KOLKATA, it is indeed a great pleasure to invite you all to 80th Annual Conference of Association of Physicians of India.
The age old anecdote of Yudhisthira and the Yakshya tells us that health is our greatest treasure and knowledge our most precious possession. So, friends, let us celebrate the acquisition of knowledge about healthy living at the APICON 2025 KOLKATA.
This conference will attempt to present an academic feast of latest developments in the field of medicine and also provide a platform to our junior members. We have been able to invite the best of International and National speakers in diverse branches of medicine whose lectures will enrich and upgrade our knowledge and practice.
However, academics should not bar you from absorbing the rich ambience, culture and vibrancy of Kolkata. The APICON is not only an academic extravaganza but also a social conglomeration from all over the nation. It enables the delegates to meet old friends and colleagues and also savor the essence of the venue city. In the famous words of our dearest Bard of Bengal, Sree Rabindranath Tagore, “The highest education is that which does not merely give us information but makes our life in harmony with all existence”.
Over the centuries, the Mughals, the Pathans, the French, the Portuguese and the British all came to Bengal and each has left an indelible mark on our culture to make it more unique. Kolkata is a city that bears testimony to centuries of colonial history and it offers a rich cultural heritage to be explored when you visit. The vibrant city is famous for its Bengali cuisine, tantalizing sweets and Mishti Doi all ready for you to dig into for all the APICON Days. You will enjoy the sunny winter days, mild and comforting, and visit the Victoria Memorial or the Kalighat Temple or cruise down the Hooghly River. If you are a book worm, you may visit the bookfair, or choose handicrafts from the Handloom fairs. If you have time, you may also visit Gangasagar or make a short trip to Santiniketan Poush mela.
