The full form of FMGE is Foreign Medical Graduates Exam. It is a computer-based online exam conducted to maintain a certain standard among medical students and enable Overseas Indian students to practice in India. If candidates possess a primary medical qualification from a recognized medical college abroad and wish to pursue a medical career in India, then they must attempt this exam to be affiliated provisionally or permanently with the State Medical Council or Medical Council of India. NBE conducts the FMGE Exam bi-annually i.e. June and December.

FMGE June 2025 Eligibility
FMGE June Eligibility is defined by NBE. Candidates who wish to appear for the exam must ensure they fulfil the following requirements set by the body:
Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India or an overseas citizen of India.
Qualification: Candidates must have a primary medical qualification that is recognised by the concerned Indian Embassy.
Document Requirement: Candidates who fail to submit the required documents will not be eligible to appear for the examination. Only those who possess Eligibility Certificate (if applicable), Provisional Pass/Degree Certificate of their Primary Medical Qualification may apply.
Foreign Eligibility: Candidates who are seeking either a provisional or permanent registration in India do not have to qualify for the screening test if they hold an undergraduate medical qualification from 1. Australia, 2. Canada, 3. New Zealand, 4. United Kingdom, 5. United States of America. Such candidates must also be a recognized medical practitioner in the aforementioned countries.
Pakistan Students: Candidates who have a primary medical qualification from Pakistan must have their security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Govt of India.
FMGE June 2025 Exam Pattern
The FMGE exam is conducted in an online mode at the chosen centre. It is a 5-hour long paper divided into PART A and B. Given below are the details of the FMGE 2022 Exam Pattern:

The FMGE exam requires a minimum of 150 out of 300 to qualify, i.e. 50%. However, the exam pass percentage is extremely low, ranging from 10 to 15% every year.
