West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination

The full form of WBJEE is West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination. West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board conducts the WBJEE exam for admission into professional courses like Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, and Architecture. It is a state-level exam, candidates across West Bengal take the WBJEE exam to get admission into these courses.

WBJEE 2524 Application Fee

The WBJEE application fee for the General category is Rs 500 while for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B is Rs 400. Candidates can pay the application fee via debit/credit card or net banking. Check the application fees below:

WBJEE 2024 Marking Scheme    

  • Category I - Each correct answer will be awarded one mark. An incorrect response will yield a loss of ¼ mark. For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/4 (25% negative) marks.

  • Category II - Only one option is correct, correct response yield two marks. An incorrect response will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield a -1/2 (25% negative) mark.

  • Category III - One or more options may be correct. Only correct responses will yield 2(two) marks. There is no negative marking.

 

WBJEE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for appearing in the WBJEE-2024

Citizenship

  • Applicant must be a citizen of India or OCI (subject to approval of the Competent Authority). OCI candidates will be eligible for only Unreserved seats in the All-India quota.

  • Candidates must have passed the 12th standard (10+2) or its equivalent examination before 2024 or appearing in the 12th standard (10+2) or its equivalent examination in 2024.

Age Restriction

  • The lower age limit is 17 (seventeen) years as of 31.12.2024. A candidate should have been born on or before 31.12.2007. There is no upper age limit for appearing in the examination.

  • However, for admission to the degree-level Marine Engineering Course, the upper age limit is 25 Years as of 31.12.2024.

General criteria for admission to Pharmacy courses

  • Candidate must have passed ‘10+2’ examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Biology as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects.

  • Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category e.g., SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PWD).

  • Must have passed English in the ‘10+2’ examination with at least 30% marks.

  • The Board of the said Qualifying Examination must be recognized by the Central Government or State Government concerned. However, as per the rules of the concerned Regulatory Body, the students possessing 10+2 qualification from non-formal and non-classrooms-based schooling such as National Institute of Open Schooling, open school systems of States etc. shall not be eligible for admission to B. Pharm. Course.
