Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day functioning of the Biochemistry Laboratory.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable processing and reporting of biochemistry tests.
• Oversee calibration, quality control (IQC), external quality assurance (EQAS), and preventive maintenance of laboratory analyzers.
• Monitor reagent inventory, consumables, and laboratory supplies to prevent stock shortages.
• Review and validate laboratory reports before release, as per departmental protocols.
• Ensure compliance with NABH, NABL, ISO standards, biosafety, and infection control guidelines.
• Train, mentor, and supervise laboratory technicians and support staff.
• Coordinate with consultants, clinicians, and other departments to ensure efficient laboratory services.
• Investigate quality issues, equipment failures, and report deviations; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain laboratory documentation, SOPs, quality records, equipment logs, and statutory records.
• Participate in internal audits, quality improvement initiatives, and accreditation activities.
• Ensure proper waste disposal and adherence to laboratory safety protocols.

Qualification & Experience

• M.Sc. Medical Biochemistry / M.Sc. Biochemistry or
• B.Sc. MLT with relevant supervisory experience.
• Additional certification in Quality Management or Laboratory Accreditation is preferred.
• Experience:
• 5–8 years of experience in a hospital diagnostic laboratory.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or in charge role in a Biochemistry Laboratory
