Responsibilities
• Obtain and document patient assessment incorporating all available data and information.
• Plan and document a nursing care plan using the nursing process and set priorities of care.
• Deliver care using the nursing process; delegate and supervise care delivered by junior staff nurses.
• Evaluate each shift's nursing interventions and document; revise care plans as required.
• Participate in Nursing Quality Assurance programs.
• Identify unsafe care practices and contribute to corrective action.
• Take over from previous shift nurse and check bedside checklist items.
• Render nursing care to assigned group of patients (bed making, sponging, mouth care, back care, etc.).
• Observe and report symptoms and condition of patients to the doctor as and when necessary.
• Record TPR, BP; administer medications; note reactions; set up treatment trays.
• Co-ordinate with paramedical workers (Physiotherapists, Dieticians).
• Assist in admission, discharge, transfer in and transfer out of patients.
• Check inventory, CSSD items, dressing trolley, procedure trolley, crash cart and biomedical equipment each shift.
• Any other duty assigned from time to time.
• Be part of the Quality Improvement Initiative and protocols of the organization.
Qualification & Experience
• Registered Nurse from an accredited Nursing School; B.Sc. Nursing / GNM; Professional licence to practice Nursing
• 1–5 Years
