Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Check prescriptions for correct dosage, drug interactions, and incompatibilities of prescribed medicines.
• Store and preserve vaccines, serums, and other drugs according to regulatory and hospital standards.
• Dispense medical and surgical products as prescribed by physicians.
• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions dispensed, including narcotics and other restricted drugs.
• Provide advice and information to patients regarding the use, dosage, and effects of medications.
• Interpret and accurately fill physicians’ prescriptions for customers.
• Verify all patient information before dispensing any prescription.
• Provide medicinal consultation to customers upon dispensing prescriptions and advise on over-the-counter (OTC) medicines as required.
• Perform order entry of prescriptions into the required pharmacy database/system.
• Contact physicians and benefits providers when necessary to clarify or process prescriptions.
• Follow documentation procedures as per regulatory requirements and hospital norms.
• Participate in training conducted by the HR Department.
• Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the University & Management from time to time.

Qualification & Experience

•  D.Pharm/B.Pharm
• Valid Pharmacist License/Registration with the relevant regulatory authority
• Experience:
• Freshers are welcome to apply.
• 0–2 years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy environment preferred.
• Experience in handling prescriptions, narcotics, and regulated medicines will be an added advantage.
