Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all nursing activities within the assigned wards.
• Ensure delivery of safe, patient-centered, and evidence-based nursing care.
• Allocate nursing staff according to patient acuity and workload.
• Monitor patient assessments, treatment plans, medication administration, and nursing documentation.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, NABH standards, and nursing protocols.
• Conduct daily ward rounds and address patient care concerns promptly.
• Coordinate with consultants, Resident Medical Officers, and allied healthcare professionals.
• Ensure availability and proper utilization of medical equipment and consumables.
• Monitor and maintain ward cleanliness, infection control, and biomedical waste management practices.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of patient records and nursing documentation.
• Supervise admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Handle patient and attendant grievances professionally and ensure timely resolution.
• Conduct orientation and on-the-job training for newly joined nursing staff.
• Evaluate nursing staff performance and identify training needs.
• Prepare duty rosters and manage shift allocations.
• Ensure compliance with medication safety and patient identification protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, NABH audits, and clinical audits.
• Report incidents, sentinel events, medication errors, and near misses as per hospital policy.
• Coordinate emergency response and ensure preparedness during medical emergencies.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Qualification & Experience

• B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (M.Sc. Nursing preferred)
• Valid State Nursing Council Registration
