Job Description:

Responsibilities

• To provide comprehensive care to patients admitted under your care.
• Be responsible for diagnosis and treatment of all the patients admitted under your care and be available to examine and consult / advise on any particular case, if requested by a colleague.
• Visit all the patients admitted under your care and plan their line of treatment as per the clinical requirements and standards of medical care.
• Ensure that the team members and the nurses understand the line of treatment and implement the care of patient as per the treatment plan 
• Ensure that the lapses in the implementation of treatment plan are reported appropriately and effectively
• Provide adequate time to the patient / surrogate decision makers while counselling about the disease process and the treatment plan.
• Ensure that the patient / surrogate decision maker has understood the treatment plan and there is agreement for the treatment planned.
• Ensure that the process of clinical diagnosis and further treatment is adequately documented and is transparent in nature.
• Adhere to the best standards of treatment while following a compassionate and affordable path of treatment. 
• Provide the patient or the surrogate decision maker an approximate estimate of days and financial impact honestly and to the best of one’s abilities.
• Invite or give reference to specialist of appropriate specialty as and when required. 
• Refer the patient to another specialty if the clinical condition of the patient demands so.
• To help in developing and implementing the training programs for various activities towards building trainings & academics for the specialities.
• Be a part of the teaching faculty as and when required.
• Take responsibility of the appropriate care and usage of all special equipment that are used by you and notify promptly to the Medical Administration in case of any deficiencies
• Enrol for medical research or publish suitable medical articles after prior approval. 
• Be available for all emergency calls and operations, when required.
• Participate in accreditation process of the hospital 
• Involve yourself in brand building & development of the specialities including continuous quality improvement of your department.
• Any other professional and administrative duties delegated as and when required.
