Provides age and culturally appropriate care to patient.
Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
Takes handover from the outgoing staff based on the allotment of patients.
Takes inventory of the area instruments and articles as per the responsibility allotted by the Lead Nurse specialist.
Reports to the Lead Nurse Specialist/ Specialist or Senior Nurse Executive problem faced in caring and safety of the patients.
Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, such as ventilators and other biomedical equipments used for the care of the patients.
Takes responsibility in maintaining the equipments to the best of usage and reports to higher authority if breakdown happens.
Prepares, administers and records prescribed medications. Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments as per hospital policy (High risk High Alert /LASA medication, Narcotic Policy and Verbal order policy).
Assists treating consultant during examination, treatment and procedures, which can include life-saving situations.
Analyzes lab results and reports as required to the concerned authority for faster treatment.
Provides education, information and emotional support to the patient’s family and caregivers based on the disease condition.
Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms as per the protocol of the hospital.
