Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Provides age and culturally appropriate care to patient.
• Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Takes handover from the outgoing staff based on the allotment of patients.
• Takes inventory of the area instruments and articles as per the responsibility allotted by the Lead Nurse specialist.
• Reports to the Lead Nurse Specialist/ Specialist or Senior Nurse Executive problem faced in caring and safety of the patients.
• Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, such as ventilators and other biomedical equipments used for the care of the patients.
• Takes responsibility in maintaining the equipments to the best of usage and reports to higher authority if breakdown happens.
• Prepares, administers and records prescribed medications. Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments as per hospital policy (High risk High Alert /LASA medication, Narcotic Policy and Verbal order policy).
• Assists treating consultant during examination, treatment and procedures, which can include life-saving situations.
• Analyzes lab results and reports as required to the concerned authority for faster treatment.
• Provides education, information and emotional support to the patient’s family and caregivers based on the disease condition.
• Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms as per the protocol of the hospital.
