ResponsibilitiesClinical ResponsibilitiesPerform 2D Echocardiography examinations as prescribed by cardiologists.Conduct Doppler, Color Doppler, M-Mode, and other echocardiographic studies.Acquire and record accurate cardiac images for diagnostic interpretation.Assist cardiologists during advanced cardiac diagnostic procedures when required.Monitor patients during procedures and report any abnormalities immediately.Ensure proper patient positioning and preparation before examinations.Explain procedures to patients and address their concerns professionally.Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies.Equipment ManagementOperate, maintain, and troubleshoot echocardiography machines.Perform routine equipment quality checks and calibration.Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with the biomedical team.Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection of probes and equipment after each use.Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate patient records and procedure documentation.Upload and archive images in PACS/HIS systems.Assist in preparing preliminary technical findings for cardiologist review.Ensure timely completion of reports and records.Quality & ComplianceFollow infection control and patient safety protocols.Adhere to NABH, hospital quality standards, and departmental SOPs.Participate in departmental audits, quality initiatives, and training programs.Qualification & ExperienceDiploma/B.Sc. in Cardiac Care Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, Allied Health Sciences, or equivalent.Certification in Echocardiography is preferred

ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates proficiency by performing routine and emergency echocardiograms, including but not limited to 2-dimensional, 3- dimensional, Doppler, Transesophageal, and Stress Echocardiogram, as requested by physician and in accordance with standard practices.Provides echocardiography service at all necessary locations, working variable shifts, weekends, and providing emergent call coverage as scheduled.Operate equipment necessary to perform all required procedures and to obtain optimal diagnostic recording; utilize ancillary devices such as selected transducers, digital networking system, off-line analysis systems. Maintain equipment in working order, making minor adjustments and repairs. Perform routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and report any equipment malfunction to echo lab manager.Analyze patient’s medical record to obtain history of symptoms and necessary information for performance of diagnostic procedures. Prepares preliminary reports for review and interpretation by Cardiologist, including comparison of previous studies.Participate in quality improvement activities; evaluate procedure results for technical quality and accuracy; maintain appropriate logs, files, and records. Review department performance in relation to established goals, implementing changes to effect outcomes.Maintain confidentiality of patients, employees and corporation-related activities.Instruct students, fellows, nurses, or health personnel as requested.Communicates technical and patient care related information according to established processes and timelines.Attends Echo Lab Meetings, participates in Echo related conferences through attendance, ensuring continuing education and professional growth.Cultivates a collaborative and cooperative work environment within department.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.Actively participates with patient testing, performing routine, non- routine, urgent, and emergent patient requests.Performs advanced cardiac ultrasound services and procedures to patients utilizing independent judgment, with real-time and off-line manipulation of echocardiographic images for capture, display and analysis of echocardiography data.Assists the physician with Echocardiography guided studies to aid them in proceeding with complex procedures to decrease potential associated procedural risks.Acts as a resource and assists Junior Cardiac Sonographers and Cardiology Fellows with pre/post procedures, preliminary review of images obtained and report.Acts as a preceptor by on-boarding Junior Cardiac Sonographers with departmental orientation, in-service and education.Support and recommend quality assurance initiatives.Qualification & ExperienceAbility to effectively operate sonographic equipment.Ability to evaluate sonograms in order to acquire appropriate diagnostic information.Ability to integrate diagnostic sonograms, laboratory results, patient history and medical records, and adapt sonographic examination as necessary.Ability to use independent judgment to acquire the optimum diagnostic sonographic information in each examination performed.Ability to evaluate, synthesize, and communicate diagnostic information to the attending physician.Ability to communicate effectively with the patient and the health care team, recognizing the special nature of sonographic examinations and patient's needs.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and health care team.Ability to follow established departmental procedures.Ability to work efficiently and cope with emergency situations.

ResponsibilitiesA professional approach must be adapted with all patients, staff and visitors. To provide medical cover, routine and emergency, during hours of duty and work in conjunction with the other specialties to serve the institute. Follow all Clinical safety, hygiene, infection control protocols to be adhered to (e.g. wearing gloves when required, aprons, hand hygiene, etc). Required to and be available to see patients when required or when requested. Required to actively participate and contribute to in Classroom and bedside teaching programs for postgraduate students and RMOs. Required to identify the complex health problems and report immediately to the concerned doctor. Required to supervise Post graduate students; however, the attending physician is ultimately responsible for the care of the patient.
