ResponsibilitiesEvaluate, diagnose, and manage pediatric patients with hematological disorders and cancers.Provide comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and day-care services.Conduct daily ward rounds and implement treatment plans in consultation with the supervising consultant.Perform and assist in specialized procedures such as bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, lumbar puncture, intrathecal chemotherapy, and blood product transfusions as per departmental protocols.Monitor patients undergoing chemotherapy and manage treatment-related complications and oncological emergencies.Coordinate multidisciplinary care with nursing staff, pharmacists, laboratory personnel, radiologists, and other specialties.Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and follow-up care.Maintain accurate and timely medical records, discharge summaries, procedure notes, and electronic documentation.Supervise and guide junior residents, house officers, interns, and medical students during clinical duties.Participate in departmental academic activities, including case discussions, journal clubs, CMEs, seminars, and teaching sessions.Assist in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and departmental accreditation activities.Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention and control measures, patient safety standards, and ethical medical practice.Perform rotational shifts, night duties, weekend duties, and on-call responsibilities as assigned.Qualification & Experience MD/DNB in Pediatrics from a recognized institution.Valid Medical Council registration.Fellowship or prior experience in Paediatric Hematology & Oncology is desirable.

ResponsibilitiesAssess, diagnose, and manage pediatric patients with hematological and oncological disorders.Conduct daily ward rounds and document clinical findings and management plans.Evaluate and stabilize acutely ill patients, including oncologic emergencies (e.g., febrile neutropenia, tumor lysis syndrome, spinal cord compression).Perform admission assessments, discharge planning, and follow-up care.Prescribe medications, chemotherapy (as per institutional protocols and under supervision), blood products, and supportive therapies.Monitor patients receiving chemotherapy and manage treatment-related complications.Perform procedures appropriate to level of competency, such as:Bone marrow aspiration/biopsy (where credentialed)Lumbar puncture (including intrathecal chemotherapy if trained and authorized)Venous access proceduresParticipate in outpatient clinics and day-care chemotherapy services.Coordinate care with nursing staff, pharmacists, dietitians, laboratory services, and other specialties.Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, potential side effects, and follow-up.Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with hospital policies.Participate in the on-call rota and respond to pediatric hematology-oncology emergencies.Attend departmental meetings, tumor boards, morbidity and mortality meetings, and educational sessions.Participate in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement projects.Supervise and teach junior doctors, interns, and medical students as appropriate.
