ResponsibilitiesClinical ResponsibilitiesConduct ENT outpatient (OPD) consultations and inpatient (IPD) management.Perform detailed history taking, clinical examination, diagnosis, and treatment planning.Manage ENT emergencies including epistaxis, airway obstruction, foreign body removal, facial trauma, and tracheostomy care.Perform and assist in ENT procedures such as:Diagnostic nasal endoscopyFlexible/Rigid laryngoscopyEar microscopyForeign body removalIncision and drainage of abscessesTracheostomyAssist and perform elective and emergency ENT surgeries under supervision according to competency.Provide pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care.Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary case discussions.Academic ResponsibilitiesTeach and supervise undergraduate (MBBS), interns, and junior residents.Conduct tutorials, bedside clinics, seminars, and journal clubs.Present interesting cases and departmental clinical meetings.Participate in CMEs, workshops, and academic conferences.Undertake research activities, publications, and clinical audits.Administrative ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate patient records, case sheets, operative notes, discharge summaries, and procedure logs.Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.Assist in maintaining OT equipment and endoscopic instruments.Perform duties assigned by the Head of Department.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare the endoscopy suite before scheduled procedures.Assist gastroenterologists during upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, ERCP, EUS, bronchoscopy (where applicable), and other therapeutic procedures.Prepare patients for procedures by verifying identity, obtaining required documentation, and positioning patients appropriately.Set up and test endoscopy equipment, monitors, video processors, insufflators, suction systems, and accessories.Prepare biopsy forceps, snares, injection needles, clips, guidewires, balloons, and other endoscopic accessories.Assist in obtaining tissue biopsies and specimen collection while ensuring proper labeling and transportation to the laboratory.Monitor patient comfort and assist clinical staff in observing vital signs during procedures.Perform high-level disinfection (HLD), cleaning, leak testing, drying, and storage of endoscopes according to infection prevention protocols.Maintain endoscope reprocessing documentation and traceability records.Inspect endoscopes and accessories for functionality and report defects promptly.Maintain inventory of consumables, accessories, disinfectants, and emergency equipment.Ensure crash cart, oxygen supply, suction equipment, and emergency medications are readily available.Assist in conscious sedation procedures under the supervision of the medical team.Prepare procedure reports, maintain patient records, and complete departmental documentation.Coordinate with Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD), Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, and Housekeeping for smooth departmental operations.Follow hospital policies, infection control practices, biomedical waste management, and patient safety protocols.Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and departmental training programs.Ensure confidentiality of patient information and compliance with hospital standards.Qualification & ExperienceDiploma/Bachelor's Endoscopy Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, or Allied Health Sciences.Certification in Endoscopy Technology is preferred.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is an added advantage.

ResponsibilitiesClinical & Consulting Duties:Provide expert consultations for patients with ENT-related issues including sinusitis, hearing loss, vertigo, tonsillitis, voice disorders, and head & neck conditions.Examine patients, review medical history, and recommend treatment plans using clinical judgment and diagnostic tools.Prescribe medications, therapies, and non-surgical interventions when appropriate.Perform in-clinic procedures such as nasal endoscopy, ear micro suction, and laryngoscopy.Surgical Responsibilities:Perform advanced ENT surgeries including (but not limited to) functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), tympanoplasty, septoplasty, tonsillectomy, thyroidectomy, and head and neck tumor removal.Lead pre-operative assessments, surgical planning, and post-operative care.Ensure safety protocols, documentation, and follow-up plans are adhered to for all surgical patients.Leadership & Administrative Duties:Supervise junior doctors, residents, and support staff in the ENT department.Participate in department meetings, case reviews, and strategic planning.Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with medical standards.Represent the ENT department in cross-functional coordination with other specialties.Teaching & Research (if applicable):Conduct training sessions for residents, junior doctors, or medical students.Lead or participate in clinical research and academic presentations.Publish papers in relevant ENT or medical journals if engaged in academic activities. Qualifications & ExperienceMBBS with post-graduate qualification in ENT (MS in Otorhinolaryngology or equivalent).Minimum 10 years of experience, with significant exposure to both surgical and outpatient ENT care.Board certification in ENT (if required by jurisdiction).Proficiency in endoscopic, microscopic, and open ENT surgeries.Strong diagnostic, interpersonal, and leadership skills.Fellowship or training in ENT subspecialties (e.g., Otology, Skull Base Surgery, Laryngology).Experience with hospital administration or clinical governance.Familiarity with EMR systems and digital health tools.
