ResponsibilitiesProvides age and culturally appropriate care to patient. Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. Reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments as per hospital policy (High risk High Alert /LASA medication, Narcotic Policy and Verbal order policy). Assists treating consultant during examination, treatment and procedures, which can include life-saving situations. Analyzes lab results and reports as required to the concerned authority for faster treatment. Provides education, information and emotional support to the patient’s family and caregivers based on the disease condition. Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms as per the protocol of the hospital.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare the OT before surgical procedures by setting up instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies. Assist in arranging surgical tables, lighting, and other necessary apparatus. Ensure all equipment is functioning properly before surgery (e.g., suction machines, cautery units, monitors). Assist in positioning patients correctly as per surgical requirements. Hand over instruments and materials to the surgical team during procedures (under supervision). Ensure proper use and handling of surgical instruments. Help with the cleaning and disinfection of the OT and equipment after surgery. Support safe shifting of patients from OT to recovery/post-operative areas. Assist in the collection and dispatch of specimens (biopsy, cultures, etc.). Follow strict aseptic and sterile techniques at all times. Adhere to infection control protocols for cleaning, waste disposal, and instrument handling. Ensure safe disposal of sharps and contaminated materials. Monitor and report the availability of OT consumables and instruments to senior technicians. Assist in maintaining inventory records and instrument logs. Cleans and restocks the operating room, arranging instrument, supplies and equipments as per the hospital operating room protocol. Positions patients for surgical and anaesthetic treatments. Takes responsibility in maintaining the equipments to the best of usage and reports to higher authority if breakdown happens.
